Sheetiron 300 Dualsport

This two-day ride begins in Stonyford on Saturday morning, ends up in Fort Bragg on Saturday night, and returns to Stonyford on Sunday afternoon. It takes place each year on the weekend before Memorial Day Weekend. This ride is non-competitive, and riders of all abilities are welcomed. Hard and easy splits are available.

Secure camping is available all weekend at the Stonyford Rodeo Grounds. Riders are responsible for making their own accommodations in Fort Bragg. The Oakland Motorcycle Club provides transportation of small gear bags and any necessary camping equipment to and from Fort Bragg.

For future reference, this event is always held the weekend before Memorial Day Weekend, and applications are accepted on, but not before, April 1. Flyers are posted here and sent to previous participants in mid-March (so please be patient). This event always sells out quickly, so get your applications in exactly on time.

The flyer/application for the 2012 Sheetiron 300 Dualsport is posted below:

Flyer

Note: Applications will not be accepted prior to April 1. Mail your application to arrive on that date, or hand-deliver it to the address on the application. All entries are processed on a first-come basis.

IMPORTANT:

Your bike must be able to go a minimum of 100 miles between fuel stops and be in sound mechanical condition for three hundred miles of trails, dirt roads, and pavement. A rollchart and a rider map will be provided to you at sign-in after you pass the tech and sound inspection. You will need a Jart-style rollchart holder. Please do not try to do the ride without a rollchart holder; all the information, routes, and instructions will be on the rollchart. Sorry, no GPS tracks are available.

At sign-in for the Sheetiron 300 Dualsport, all riders will be required to sign a waiver. Please read this waiver prior to your arrival at the event.

Don't be a squirrel: Due to the strict Forest Service laws and our ride being threatened with permanent cancellation, ALL BIKES must meet the 96db noise regulation, have a US Forest Service approved spark arrestor, and be LEGALLY licensed and equipped for street use.

The Oakland Motorcycle Club is a sanctioned AMA promotor, a licensee of the Mendocino National Forest, and an equal opportunity service provider. The U.S. Forest Service requests that you take care not to spread noxious weeds. See here and here.

Note: If you bring your non-street-legal motocross bike with your wife’s license plate zip-tied to the back fender, you will not be able to participate in our ride! (This is for the good of the sport and this ride, and to keep your bike from being impounded, and to keep you from seeing the inside of the county pokey.)

Please refer to these rider instructions for details about the event.
